{one} what is your dream job?

Either a family/marriage therapist or spokesperson for the VA

{two} how many best friends do you have?

Two!

Monique -- she is one of the greatest friends, scratch that, greatest people I have ever met! Top 1% of people I absolutely adore!

 Heather -- one of my best friends since 5th grade.

No matter what I know I can rely on her.


{three} what's the longest road trip you've ever taken?
14 hour road trip to the boat dock to get to Malibu Club in Canada, and then take a 3 hour ferry ride the rest of the way to camp.


{four} if you had to do one single thing every day for the next year, what would it be?
Hug my husband every day...duh.  That and not criticize myself in any way


{five}  what's one story your family always tells about you?
whether it was me or my brother who was accidently switched up at the hospital in the middle of the night.  My dad swears it was my brother, and my mom is convinced it was me.  Inevitably the story that always gets told at both our birthdays, every year. 


{six} how did your parents pick your name?
there are 4 "Anna"'s in my mom's family, so she named me after them & her sister Ann, and my middle name is a combination of her other two sisters who were twins.


{seven} what's the one thing that scares you more than anything?
Dealing with my parents dying -- i get so incredibly emotional about it, even just thinking about it makes me so worked up....I am NOT looking forward to that day at all.  And I think as a result of that, being an adult without the tie to my mom - without having her around to always run ideas by, process difficult situations, etc.  See, even now - writing that I have tears in my eyes....


{eight}  are you a good cook?
Hmm I can cook -- but I definitely think Isaac is a better cook between the two of us.


{nine} where do you see yourself in 20 years?
successful, happily living with Isaac enjoying our kids as young adults/adults.  Hopefully enjoying life and watching Isaac be a head coach -- either at high school level or college


{ten} what's your best childhood memory?
i honestly loved going to Eagle Crest with my family every summer.  It's one of my most favorite places in all of Oregon.  I would force my family to go to the High Desert Museum every summer, we would go to the Deschutes County fair to watch the rodeo, and spend days at the pool.  It's the place I learned to swim and starting next year, Isaac & I will be continuing the summer tradition for our family of 2! LOVES IT!

hmm..tough, purple? can be cool and relaxed, but also deep & pensive

{two} how have you changed in the past year?

i've decided to take my health in to my own hands - stop whining about it, and just make it a party of my regular life. no more bailing, but actively participating in the every day behaviors, so i can actively celebrate the outcomes!

{three} have you ever had any surgeries?

only to get my wisdom teeth pulled

{four} why did you start your blog?

to have a place to put my thoughts i thought no one else wanted to hear.  a place where i had the option to be brutally honest with out fear of being looked at like a crazy B-face

{five} what are you looking forward to this summer?

hmm...i think camping trips with hubby & friends and a potential trip to hawaii in aug.

{six} do you have any family traditions for the 4th of July?

we used to go up to Ocean Shores every year and either camp at my cousins property or stay at my Gran's cabin....but this year i'll be at camp.  otherwise we'd all be at Gran's cabin to remember her....the first 4th without her...

{seven} what's something new that you've tried in the past few months?

couponing! it's a little overwhelming...but i'm slowly starting to feel more comfortable!

{eight} what is the perfect a/c temperature?

70 degrees

{nine} what was the last movie you saw in the theater?

Bridesmaids -- for the 2nd time.  saw it first w/ my mom & aunt (who oddly enough, loved it) and then again with hubby, he was almost crying from laughing

{ten} what song do you think everyone should hear at least once?

"Goodnight" by The Beatles - it will instantly become the #1 lullaby...planning on singing it to my kids.  such a simple but sweet song - i love how The Beatles mixed strings in to their songs in the later years, music genius.

OR

"Lei Pikake" by the Hawaiian band HAPA...incredibly beautiful, a bit haunting in the beginning, then gently rolls in to the fluid, welcoming feel that Hawaii is known for.

It was the perfect song -- used it in our wedding

not really per se

{two} are you more of a talker or more of a listener?

talker for sure...sometimes i have to give my friends permission to tell me to shut up!

{three} would you rather get up early or sleep late?

honestly depends on what i have to do that day.  if i'm at camp, i seem to always wake up early with no problem at all.  every day though i'd much rather sleep late!

{four} if you could instantly become an expert at one type of dance, what type would you choose?

ballroom -- like the waltz, foxtrot, etc

{five} what's your favorite drink?

alcoholic: dirty arnold palmer (aka John Daly) non-alcoholic: peach iced tea

{six} if your house caught fire and you could only grab three things, what would they be?

wedding album/photos of our grandpas, the water color photo isaac's great-grandma painted, and the blue heart necklace from my gran i used in our wedding.  i would make isaac grab his Nana's ukulele, our computers, and the cranes hanging in our living room. am i cheating because i laid out what i would make isaac grab??

{seven} if you could only visit one restaurant for the next five years, which would it be?

Momiji's or Best Little Roadhouse...both are SOO yummy!

{eight} who inspires you the most?

my parents...corny?

dad = incredible, sometimes un-famthomable challenges but succeeded despite them; one of the most caring, gentle people i know

mom = extremely independent & focused, so smart; has a crazy 6th sense about life

{nine} if you had your own talk show, who would be your first three guests?

Dave Ramsey, Condelezza Rice, Laura Bush

{ten} sneakers or sandals?

depends on where i'm going...day to day, probably sneakers

goodness....I can't even remember the last time...but I have in the past

geometry sophomore year -- retook it during the summer & killed it.

i swear having the right teacher is KEY

only the BEST place in Salem...Willamette Burger Company  

Seriously the best - and their double fried fries are INCREDIBLE!

{four} have you ever served jury duty?

yup - grand jury to be specific

{five} how old were you when you moved out of your parents house?

22 I think - then moved back in before I got married

{six} what is your favorite color to wear?

probably purple or green

{seven} do you have a pair of shoes that you wear all the time?

yup - my vans or my DV sandals

{eight} do you enjoy talk radio?

actually YES I do -- listen every morning

{nine} if you could turn one unhealthy food into a healthy one, what would it be?

anything Mexican or Italian....so good

{ten} who is the best speaker you've ever heard in person?

WITHOUT QUESTION: Dave Ramsey -- so entertaining & wise!

Thankfully today it is SUNNY & 70 in the Willamette Valley - which means LIFE IS GOOD!

And tonight I'll be going to a fun live-band karaoke fundraiser tonight, should be tons of fun...get to hang with w/ my honey & my favorite cousins Tasha & Chad. Can't complain!

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} how often do you do laundry?

currently once a week, but i think that's going to get bumped up.

isaac has huge clothes so i'd rather do multiple small loads than 2 HUGE loads.

{two} what is your favorite type of cookie?

chocolate chip...without a doubt

{three} what would you do with an extra $2000 per month?

hire a yard guy, cleaning lady & update the wardrobe

{four} what was/is your favorite subject in school? 

i really loved history - and almost became a high school history teacher

{five} have you ever ridden in a hot air balloon?

no i haven't - but wouldn't mind it!

{six} what was your high school mascot?

we were the Celtics - i still know the fight song & dance

{seven} if you had the chance to go in to space, would you?

probably - i mean how many people EVER have that kind of chance?!

{eight} how often do you go dancing?

not very often - but went a couple weeks ago w/ friends

{nine} would you rather drive or fly?

fly -- i want to get where i'm going so i can enjoy it the longest time possible

{ten} have you ever been caught re-gifting?

don't think so, but i definitely have re-gifted! muahahaha

Sorry for the lack of interesting posts as of late friends - I've been trying to focus my energy on getting my rear end to the gym & making better food choices, but alas the food is still my hang up.  

All in all, what usually ends up happening is I go to the gym for Group Power/running or go running & then get home and am exhausted. That's right, exhausted. As in no energy for anything.  So as a result, our laundry has yet to be folded, we have yet to go grocery shopping (yes I've mentioned probably about4 or 5 times here & on my twitter that we were going...it's yet to be accomplished), and there are still dishes in my sink.  I'm looking forward to the day when I'm energized from all this working out to get the house spic & span, have the office finally organized (i.e. go thru isaac's old paperwork & organize), the middle room finished with Isaac's recording things put together & our entire bedroom/bathroom cleaned top to bottom .  Yes that will be the day!

Maybe I'll start registering my food choices here as a for of accountability...hmm...or not. That's a whole heck of a lot of transperancy with the blogging world I'm not quite sure I'm ready for.  I think I'll just stick with my WW log.

no - but I have been feeling pretty dizzy lately...

{two} what is your favorite casino game?

slots...i'm a slots girl. although Isaac makes the big bucks when he plays blackjack!

i think so - i don't get worked up about "getting lost"

and i've made my way around Hawaii by myself, so I feel pretty confident!

{four} laptop of desktop?

i really like both of my computers

{five} what is your go-to hairstyle when you're having a bad hair day?

low pony tail...rockin' it today

{six} do you read the newspaper on a daily basis?

i glance at it daily when I get to the office

{seven} do you have a favorite celebrity chef?

tom colicchio(sp?), anthony bourdain, and I know he's not a chef - but Adam from Man Vs. Food

{eight} what tv show would you like to make a guest appearance on?

hmm...Grey's Anatomy for sitcoms, but would also LOVE to be on Big Brother one day, i love that show! it's my summer addiction

{nine} do you have satellite radio in your car?

nope

{ten} what was the last movie that made you cry?

i watched "Possession" - a lesser known Gwyneth Paltrow movie.

it's about two literature profs who investigate a possible love affair between two Victorian author/poets & inevitably end up falling in love too. i love how it bounces between the two love stores - the Victorian era & the modern day.  i'm inspired now to order the book off amazon & get to reading on my flight to Denver in a couple weeks! we shall see

I started off as a history major - then changed to sociology

hmm...a dolphin? not super scary at all...

nope - don't believe in them...there's only one person in the world who knows my future

not if my life depended on it!

if i had to choose...hardwood, hands down

1998 Ford Escort Coupe ZX2 - black little 2 door bat mobile. Lovingly referred to as Shaniqua in my family. She was a good little car

honestly, not that often....at all

honestly, probably right before my wedding...I was trying to win over my little cousin

of the band Fiji at the concert on Friday...we're talking Hawaiians for DAYSSSSS

slightly burnt brownies or cookies, yes.  otherwise no

{six} if you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?

put it in the change cups at home in our office. i'm convinced we have like $100 there

{seven} can you touch your tongue to your nose?

barely

{eight} do you scrapbook?

no...i'm not crafty like that

{nine} do you buy lottery tickets?

no...i often get them as white elephant or birthday gifts though at Christmas

{ten} do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?

i honestly don't think i have a preference either way...

Confession...I have been in the desert lately.  Not the literal desert, but the spiritual desert.  Looking back over the last 2-3 months I've been leaving out the most significant piece of my life; my Lord. 

No wonder I've been in a valley.  No wonder I've felt overwhelmed.  No wonder I've been anxious & irritable.  Where have I been putting my trust and  reliance?  In the most unreliable of places....myself.  How silly, how arrogant, how illogical.

I'm excited to get started and to find myself again fully relying on the plans & love of Christ.

Wee Bit Wednesdays!

Wee Bit Wednesdays always seem to make Wednesdays easier to get thru.  A little bit of whimsy and folly is good for the soul every once in a while! :)  So thank you Leigh Ashley

{one} scruffy or clean shaven?

easy answer...clean shaven. who wants a face burn after kissing?! sheesh!

{two} what's your favorite sundae topping?

again easy...caramel & hot fudge. it's pure perfection

{three} do you own slippers?

absolutely! 2 pairs - and they are amazing. one pair has rubber sole bottoms, confession...I've been known to wear them out in public.  the other pair are super comfy and slouchy, just the best for couch days!

{four} did you ever have a tree house?

nope - never lived any where that had big enough trees 

{five} how do you relieve stress?

hmm, take a "mental health day," cry some times (depending on level of stress), work out

{six} what's your favorite dr. seuss book?

oh my goodness so many! Hop on Pop, Oh the Places You'll Go, & I Can Read With My Eyes Shut :)  Love Dr. Seuss!

{seven} have you ever taken dance classes?

nope - I want to with hubby though.  Ballroom would be fun!

{eight} which do you use more: thesaurus or dictionary?

thesaurus for sure

{nine} what's your favorite form of exercise?

I'm loving Zumba right now - but running is always a good stand by

{ten} what's the longest you've ever waited in line?

Space Mountain, Disney World Christmas Day 2002 -- 1 hr, 25 min.

They literally closed the gates & turned people away because there were 80,000 people in the Magic Kingdom alone.  I think we only went on like 3 rides that day. Words of wisdom, NEVER, I repeat NEVER, go to Disney World on Christmas day!

I have FINALLY found the perfect nude nail polish at my manicure yesterday!  I have bemoaned to my friends of my search & how every time the polish comes out too pink, too sparkly, or too white - making my fingers look silly.  But yesterday the heavens opened & my fingers are now boasting the perfect nude shade!  Just a little sparkle when you look real close, but otherwise perfection! Loves it!

Funny how the small things often bring so much joy! Oh and well dinner with my favorite cousin in the world helped round out my day as well!

it's white...boring I know...hubby & I have plans to add a cool backsplash. we'll see how far we get :)

{two} do you have a good luck charm?

nope

{three} do you prefer to write with a pen or pencil?

pen most of the time - but i'm specific with my pens, particularly at work

{four} can you use chopsticks?

yes! Japanese husband taught me well..although, i admit i still get intimidated when we're with his family. i feel like the oddball who can't eat!

{five} do you prefer baths or showers?

showers for sure...

{six} what is your favorite salad dressing?

most of the time i'm a ranch girl - but every so often i mix it up with italian. yeah i'm super unpredictable ;)

{seven} can you sing the alphabet backwards?

probably not sing it - but I could definitely say it!

{eight} do you have any allergies?

slight allergy to pollen - but biggest pain is my allergy to mosquito bites.

now you're probably thinking i'm just like everyone else...but i disagree.  one bit will go from small to the size of a half dollar in about 20min, the itch can wake me out of a dead sleep, and i'm not one of those people who can feel mosquitos when they're biting you. it's awful. I joke that OFF! is my summer perfume

is this even a question?? creamy - with out a doubt

{ten} have you ever hitch hiked?

no...i value my life.  same answer for why i've never picked up a hitch hiker!

Late Night Wee Bit!

I sincerely meant to link up earlier but the day got away from me somehow.  But I will admit it was fun to learn some new techie type tools to utilize at work.  It'll be a bit of time to figure out how they all work together & if they work for us!

{one}  do you wear holey jeans? if so, do you buy them that way?

not typically -- and if my jeans happen to have holes, it's from normal wear & tear

{two} do you get a full 8 hours of sleep per night?

I try to - however not always successful

{three} what's your favorite way to eat an oreo?

the only way to eat it is to first dunk in milk...the only way!

{four} do you wear shoes in your house?

typically not - hubby's Hawaiian, so the norm there is to take off your shoes outside. since it's so cold/wet here most of the time, we take our shoes off at the front door.  very rarely do we wear our shoes inside

{five} who would you call first if you won the lottery?

easy answer...Isaac! then my folks, then my brother, then my best buds!

{six} have you ever been in a food fight?

actually yes....it's a standard occurrence at our fall YL camp. except we have our fights on the beach and get hosed off at the lodge before going in.  it usually ends with someone having oatmeal lodged in their ear...good times

{seven} do you snore?

nope -- but hubby certainly does. thank the good Lord above for CPAP machines, saved my life! that baby comes every where with us!

{eight} do you how fast you type?

not sure...let me take a typing test real quick to see.....

ok...92wpm...my parents got me started on Reader Rabbit Teaches Typing pretty young

{nine} can you do a headstand (without using a wall)?

nope

{ten} how do you like your popcorn?

light butter -- nothing too special or exotic.

At least I got this done on Wednesday! :)  Better late than never right?!

not as much as I used to -- mom has scared me about arthritis

my engagement ring from hubby - simple and clean

silver...it's my mobster car :)

side note...love love love the She&Him Pandora station (yes I've mentioned this before). But I am sitting here enjoying the beautiful music of the Beatles, the Shirelles, The Weepies & of course She&Him. Delightful!

Strawberry Belgian Waffles & bacon from OPH...delish!

two - how many pairs of shoes do you currently own?

   I should probably be ashamed by this...but hey, shoes always fit, so I always buy them

at least 30-35 (flip flops included)

three - city or country?

country...no question

four - what is your favorite part of your job?

the flexibility of working with family - i.e. if hubby & I get stranded in Hawaii when we fly standby, I don't worry about getting fired! Phew!

five - what is your favorite junk food to snack on?

Um, probably cheese quesadilla with gooood guacamole & salsa YUM!

six - have you ever been mentioned in the newspaper?

does an engagement announcement count?

seven - do you use post-it notes?

yes - for work; otherwise no

eight - do you have freckles?

yes...I joke that in the summer I don't really get tan, I just become one giant freckle!

nine - is it ok for men to wear pink?

absolutely!

ten - when was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?

goodness -- I don't even know. Ages ago.  I want to do that more though

Well I'm on day 3 with no voice - and let me tell ya, it makes work a bit of a challenge.

That aside - I'm so thankful for good friends these days.  Monday night after hanging out at a basketball game with honey Isaac, we stopped by our good friends Monique & Chris' place to visit.  What a blessing to have great friends at this stage in our lives.  And Friday night I'll be hanging with my great friend Kathryn...that said, think good thoughts for her! I may have made a potentially great love match between her & another friend of ours.  It'd be fun to see if they really jive & match! Yahoo!

{ten} on a scale of 1-5, how organized are you?3.5 most of my life is fairly organized - for the things that aren't OCD organized, there's a method to the slight chaos, I know where most everything is at all times. It has been a CRAZY day! But I'm looking forward to Group Power with my buddies tonight & Zumba with my cousin as well! I feel like I'm getting in a workout groove! Loves it! <3

{five} what’s your favorite thing to do on a sunday afternoon?take a nap...is that bad? Working saturdays now zaps my energy, so I try to soak up some nap time in preparation for the coming week
{six} what is the wallpaper on your cellphone of?lilly pad & flower - attempt at being peaceful
{seven} do you have a favorite tv commercial?YES! the kevin bacon one - where kevin bacon is acting like a normal joe shmoe who idolizes kevin bacon, at the end of the commercial he says something like "my wife says if i watch any more kevin bacon i might just turn in to kevin bacon" then he makes a really hopeful face and lifts up both hands with crossed fingers. SO FUNNY
{eight} what is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?rocky mountain oysters in australia - only once & never again. barf!
{nine} what is one piece of clothing you can’t live without?sweatshirts/zip ups & jeans..i know that's two pieces, but they're my staples.
